Our priority, as always, is supporting your health and wellbeing. In addition to the decision to postpone the 2020 Premium Adjustment, Phoenix Health has made the following benefits available to all eligible members at no extra cost. Your Phoenix Health cover is working harder than ever.
Your Hospital Cover
COVID-19 Related Hospital Admissions
We would like to assure you that should you need to be hospitalised for treatment related to COVID-19, that you will be covered, regardless of your level of Phoenix Health hospital cover at no extra cost.
Please note that waiting periods, excess and co-payments will still apply. You can view your level of cover and all included benefits at any time via the Phoenix Health Online Member Service (OMS) portal.
Pre-admission Program for Planned Surgery
We want to assure you that should you require surgery, your private hospital cover will be there for you. With some elective surgeries returning, now is the time to enrol in our Prehab Program to assist you as you prepare for planned surgery.
We have also extended our Health Management services to include Pre-Admission Programs with Telehealth Prehab sessions run by Clinical Specialists.
If you would like to register for these services, please contact our Clinical Team by emailing [email protected].
We’d like to reassure you that private hospitals are still open and treating Phoenix Health members. Please speak with your treating doctor or specialist for the most up to date information relating to your personal circumstances.
Additional Services for Expectant Parents
Given the current restrictions, we are aware that several support services and classes usually available to expectant parents may have temporarily ceased. Preparing to welcome a child into the world is exciting and a time of joy but it can bring challenges and adjustments.
The Phoenix Health Hatchling Program is designed to support members throughout their pregnancy and the first eight weeks of their baby’s life. To ensure members have access to all the support they need, we’ve extended the services available to include Telehealth pre- and post-natal services that would normally be offered by your hospital or health care provider.
To register for the Hatchling Program or to access these additional services, please email our representative Midwife Donna Mansell by emailing [email protected].
The Phoenix Health Hatchling Program is available to all members with Hospital cover.
Your Extras Cover
Did you know some health care practitioners have reopened and returned to normal practice? These services include, but aren’t limited to, emergency dental, chiropractic, physiotherapy, massage and some optical dispensing services.
If you’re still unable to access your preferred practitioner, don’t forget to take advantage of our extended Telehealth Services.
Benefits for Telehealth services
To ensure you’re still able to access the treatment and support you need, Phoenix Health is providing benefits for Telehealth services for Physiotherapy, Psychology, Dietetics and Speech Pathology.
Claiming for these benefits will be available via the Phoenix Health app or email.
Here when you need us
To ensure members are supported during this difficult time, we are rolling out wellbeing health checks for vulnerable members. While we’d love to personally speak with everyone, it’s our way of checking in on those who might be in the most need of some extra support right now.
We’ve also prepared a range of resources designed to answer any commonly asked questions you might have during this time:
- Member Notification regarding the 2020 Premium Adjustment
- Member update on Phoenix Health’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic
- Information flyer on COVID-19 and your wellbeing
Don’t forget to Like and Follow Phoenix Health on Facebook to stay up to date with health and industry news and check out the Healthy Blog on our website.
If you have any questions about your cover, the benefits available to you or if you have been impacted by the COVID-19 outbreak and would like to discuss your membership, we encourage you to reach out the Phoenix Health Team on 1800 028 817 or at [email protected]; we’re look forward to speaking with you.
