Mothers Day 2020

Mother’s Day is about showing appreciation for our mother’s and mother figures in our lives and all the loving, amazing, special and everyday things they do for us. This year will look a little different to usual and while we can’t take Mum out for a special meal or physically go to the shops to spoil her with gifts there’s still plenty you can do to make her feel extra special.

To give you a little inspiration, we asked the Mum’s in the Phoenix Health office what’s on their wish lists and matched them with gift ideas from our Shop.Save.Support. program.

A new dressing gown and slippers – Sue and Lisa

Like all of us, Mum’s probably spending more time than ever at home and as the weather cools down there’s nothing better than snuggling up in a new pair of pyjamas’ or some matching loungewear. Why not make it truly unique with personalised gifts, sleepwear and loungewear from Cotton On.

Our picks: Bonds and Cotton On or let her choose with a Bonds eGift card.

“I love getting flowers” – Traci

If you’re trying to avoid any unessential outings why not get creative and make your own flowers or paint mum a picture. If you or someone you know in your street has flowers in their garden, why not ask if you pick some flowers for Mum for a personal touch. Or if your Mum prefers to grow her own, why not give her a Bunnings eGift card!

“A day at the spa” – Wendy

If you can’t take the Mum to the day spa, bring the day spa to Mum! Spoil her with some luxe skin care, perfume and aromatherapy candles to use at home. Or give Mum something special to look forward to with an Endota eGift card.

Our picks: The Body Shop, Estee Lauder, Clinique and Dusk

“A new hairdryer” – Tara

Electronics don’t need to be a boring gift anymore! Shop hair dryers, straighteners, curlers and more online to give the gift of pampering at home.

Our picks: The Shaver Shop and The Good Guys

“New workout gear” – Kate

Like our loungewear, our activewear is probably getting more of a workout these days than ever. Take the dog walks to a new level and spoil Mum with some fresh kicks and new winter activewear. Not sure what size? Try a Lorna Jane, Rebel Sport or Foot Locker eGift card instead.

Our picks: Lorna Jane, Rebel Sport and The Athlete’s Foot

“A new book” – Tori

There’s only so many TV shows and movies you can stream and there’s something special about a good book. Don’t forget there’s also the option for eBooks if you want to save postage time and she’s got a tablet or device that supports eBooks.

Our picks: Booktopia and Angus and Robertson

“A day off; no cooking or cleaning” – Sharon

Spoil Mum by ordering Menulog on Mother’s Day or by gifting her an Uber Eats voucher. Or to really go all out why not commit to cooking for a whole week with the help of HelloFresh who will deliver everything you need, including recipes, to your door!

Our picks: Menulog, HelloFresh and Uber Eats.

“A big hug and kiss” – Tracy

If you can’t wish Mum a happy Mother’s Day face to face, set a time to catch up over the phone or Facetime. Or surprise her with a big family catch up using apps like Skype, Zoom or House Party.

Give the gift of choice!

If you’re stuck for ideas or can’t choose, leave it up to Mum with an eGift card. We have a huge range of discounted eGift cards that are delivered directly to your inbox.
