We’re giving back… again!

We made a promise at the beginning of the pandemic that we would not financially benefit from COVID-19, because supporting you is more important to us.

Being there for you when you need us is and always will be our priority, and we’re proud that Phoenix Health to date has committed more than $2.8 million in additional member support measures – including delaying premium increases and introducing health support programs.

Even though it seems a long time since COVID-19 put our lives on hold, we continue to monitor the situation and the claims associated with this period – which for the second year now has allowed us to return money to you.

In these challenging times, we understand the financial pressures felt every day, and we want you to know we’re here to support you. In 2022 and 2023 we delayed the approved annual increase to provide you with some premium relief, and for the second year now are making Give-Back payments to members in addition to returning more to members in benefits than many for-profit health funds.

In the 2022 Financial Year, Phoenix Health paid $44.101 million in member claims, including:

$26 million in benefits for treatments and services provided to members while admitted to hospital.

$7 million in dental benefits for healthier smiles on things like check-ups, scale and cleans and fillings.

$2 million in optical benefits to help members look after their vision and see clearer.

$2 million in physio, chiro and osteopathic benefits to help members move better and recover quicker.

Updating Your Details

Give-Back payments will be made directly into the bank account nominated on your membership that we would otherwise pay benefits into when make a claim.

To make sure that you receive your Phoenix Health Give-Back payment as quickly as possible, make sure that we have your most up-to-date information before 31 July 2023. You can add new, check or update existing details by logging in to the Phoenix Health Online Member Service (OMS) Portal and selecting benefit payment details.

Once payments are made on Wednesday 2 August 2023, you can expect to receive your payment within two business days depending on your bank or financial institution.
