That’s why we’ve partnered with Clean Slate Clinic to bring you our Substance Dependency Support Program to provide you with the support you need through your detox and recovery.
Our Substance Dependency Support Program enables those seeking help, to safely withdraw from alcohol, stimulants or cannabis, when they are ready and from the comfort of their home. With the support of specialist Alcohol & Other Drug (AOD) clinicians, Phoenix Health members will be guided through a 12 month program, unique to them and their needs, by taking them through three steps:
- Preparation and assessment
You’ll be appointed a dedicated specialist nurse who will ensure you are psychologically, socially and physically ready to detox and will work with you to set your goals and understand your triggers so that you can put in place the changes you’ll need for long-term success. You’ll also receive a care package to begin the program. - Detox
You’ll be supported through a medically supervised detox at home – as opposed to the typical hospital or outpatient facility. You’ll be contacted daily to ensure you’re safe and comfortable, and to review your medication needs, supporting you through every stage of the process. - Aftercare
You’ll continue to receive follow-ups from your nurse for the remainder of the year, weekly at first and then less frequently as your confidence grows. You’ll be given a tailored post-detox pan to give you the tools and strategies you need for long term success, plus you’ll also have the opportunity to participate in multi-peer supported ‘SMART Recovery’ meetings each week.
Clean Slate Clinic
- – Telehealth clinical support services, available Australia-wide
We’ve partnered with Clean Slate Clinic to provide telehealth clinical support services to Phoenix Health members struggling with alcohol, stimulant or cannabis dependence. Providing care and helping them through detox and recovery, safely in the comfort of their own homes, the program is led by Dr Chris Davis, a global leader in General Practitioner substance withdrawal management and his team of highly trained clinicians.

The program runs over 12 months and focuses on:
- Detox from the comfort of home – undergo medical detox without needing to go to a clinic.
- Experienced medical supervision – Clean Slate’s team of doctors and nurses specialise in addiction and know how to help guide you through every step of your journey.
- Tailored and unique treatment – no matter your goals after detox, whether it’s abstinence or not, the team will help you achieve it.
The Substance Dependency Support Program is available at no extra cost to Phoenix Health members who have Hospital Cover and have served their 2-month waiting period.
