Phoenix Health and Healthscope have reached an in-principle agreement
The following information is current as at the 4th March 2025.
What does this mean for me?
We’re really pleased to let you know that Phoenix Health and Healthscope have reached an in-principle agreement – Healthscope have withdrawn their termination notice, ensuring that Phoenix Health members will remain fully covered when receiving treatment in a Healthscope hospital, and will not face any additional hospital charges.
There are no changes for Phoenix Health members – you’ll continue to be fully covered in any of the 38 Healthscope Hospitals around Australia.
We know the impact that changes to our agreements with hospital providers has on you – thank you for your understanding and patience in this matter. We want you to know that we’ll always act in your best interests and continue to work hard to ensure that we’re always providing you with access to quality and affordable health insurance.
What happens if I moved to another Health Fund because of the Healthscope contract changes? If you moved to another Private Health Insurer that still had an agreement with Healthscope – we understand!
Can you transfer back to Phoenix Health? Yes! If you moved health funds between 10 December 2024 and 4 March 2025, we will waive any waiting periods you had already served when you transfer back to Phoenix Health on your previous level of cover.
